The Edit — Guide

Editorial landing pages, explained.

What makes a landing page editorial, why it works for service brands, and what it needs to hold.

Most landing pages try to say everything at once. An editorial one says one thing well. It reads like the opening spread of a magazine: a clear headline, room to breathe, and one next step.

What makes a landing page editorial.

Editorial design borrows its rules from magazines. On a landing page, that means:

  • Hierarchy. One headline carries the page. Everything else supports it.
  • Whitespace. Space signals confidence. A page with room reads as considered, not empty.
  • Typography. A serif for the voice, a sans for the details. Two typefaces, no more.
  • One action. One button, repeated where it’s needed. Never five competing choices.

Why it works for service brands.

If you sell a service or an experience, people aren’t comparing specs. They’re deciding whether to trust you. An editorial page slows them down long enough to feel the brand before they read the offer.

A crowded page reads as discount. A considered one reads as premium, before a single word is read. And it asks for less: no menu maze, no shop, just the story and a way to say yes.

The anatomy of one good page.

Six sections, in this order. Each one has a single job.

i

The opening.

A headline, one line of context, and the action.

ii

The offer.

What you do and who it’s for, in plain words.

iii

What’s included.

Specifics, not adjectives.

iv

How it works.

A few steps, so nothing feels uncertain.

v

The fit.

Who it’s for, and who it isn’t.

vi

The close.

The investment and the action, one more time.

What it leaves out: sliders, stock icons, a full navigation menu, and anything that doesn’t move someone closer to booking.

What it looks like in practice.

The same rules, applied to real pages:

  • The Page — a service page built on the exact structure above.
  • Off the Loop — an ebook landing, stripped back to a plain-text letter.
  • The Surf Retreat — a template launch that reads like an issue of a magazine.

Different offers, one principle: less, but better.

Want it built for you?

The Page is a bespoke editorial landing page, designed by hand around your brand: your story, your offer and your booking link, with two rounds of revisions. First version in five days.

One page. Said well.

Clear hierarchy, real space, two typefaces and one action. The rest is restraint.
