The Edit — Guide

MRR Canva templates, considered.

What Master Resell Rights actually mean, why most MRR looks the same, and how to choose templates you would be proud to sell.

Search for MRR Canva templates and you will find bundles of ten thousand designs for the price of a coffee. That is exactly the problem: when everyone resells the same pack, no one's product stands out. This guide is about the other way.

What MRR actually means.

MRR stands for Master Resell Rights. When a Canva template comes with MRR, you buy it once and can resell it as your own, at the price you choose, as many times as you like, and keep what you earn.

It is often confused with PLR. The short version:

  • MRR — you can resell the product, and the resell rights pass on to the people who buy it from you.
  • PLR, or Private Label Rights — usually lets you rebrand and edit the product as if you had made it.
  • Every licence is a little different. Read the one that comes with the product before you list it anywhere.

Why most MRR looks the same.

MRR is usually built for volume: huge bundles, low prices, and the same files sold by thousands of shops at once. Buyers notice. When your product looks like every other listing, the only thing left to compete on is price.

The opportunity sits on the other side. Fewer templates, better made, with a look buyers cannot find in the next shop over.

How to choose templates worth reselling.

Before you buy any MRR Canva template, check for these five things:

i

A real point of view.

Templates designed around one clear aesthetic, not a little of everything. Editorial layouts, with generous space and considered type, read as premium at a glance.

ii

Fully editable.

Every element changes in Canva, ideally on a free account, so your buyers can make it theirs without any design skills.

iii

A clear licence.

Written terms that say what you can resell, how you can sell it, and what transfers to your buyers.

iv

Built as a product.

Organised pages, consistent sizes and a delivery your buyers can open in one click. That is the difference between a file and something you can sell.

v

Room to rebrand.

Space for your own name, photography and copy, so the version you sell looks like your brand, not the original shop.

And what to skip: packs counted in thousands, designs you have already seen in five other shops, and any listing that promises income instead of describing the product.

How to start selling MRR templates.

  • Start with one collection. A single, cohesive set says more than a giant bundle.
  • Make it yours. Swap in your photography, your palette and your words before you list it.
  • Present it well. Clean mockups and a short, clear product page sell better than a long list of features.
  • Price it for what it is. Considered templates do not need to compete with the ten-thousand pack. They are a different product.

Editorial templates, with resell rights.

Every theblurstock template is editorial, fully editable in Canva and comes with Master Resell Rights. The full licence is on each product page. The Starter Store is the complete set: 88 templates across six collections, ready to brand and sell as your own.

Fewer templates. Better made.

MRR works when the product is worth owning. Choose a point of view, make it yours, and let the design do the selling.
